    Yes...I read about the bad reviews,but mom wanted to return because she had a craving!
    It's too hot to be slaving in the kitchen cooking time consuming food! We gotta go out right?
        Here goes! U ready for the review? There were good AND bads!!!!! We ordered 2 plates w/2 choices .

    Plate #1
    Fried rice,pork guisantes(stewed pork & peas)& Longanisa (sausage):
    -Fried rice had no flavor
    -Pork Guisantes was very salty but ono!
    -one longanisa was old,threw it away

    Plate #2
    1/2 Pancit Miki and 1/2 Pancit Bihon ,Pinakbet & Tocino:
    -Miki (thicker chewier noodle)was very salty,tasted old,noodles mushy
    -Bihon (long rice/bean thread)was good!
    -Pinakbet  had green beans,okra ,pork belly & eggplant that was fresh & delicious.
    -Tocino (Filipino char siu)was a hit ! I've had this before & this is ono everywhere !
       
        The air conditioning was set too low on a hot summer day. I saw the thermostat read @ 80 degrees. We were hot the whole time during lunch.Desserts all looked scrumptious! This place makes the best ensamadas! I ALWAYS buy it @ 711!!!
        Grandson needed to go to the potty. A reluctant visit found an empty soap dispenser.
    Walking back to the table underneath the dessert cases was a" 747" (huge cockroach) !!! I deeply apologize for the picture I had to take!!! Grandson
    went back to the table and told everyone!!!

        Well...old food,overly salty food,hot & uncomfortable & not to forget that sick roach! I really wanted a Halo-Halo though!!!
    Would you return???

    I placed an order here for a large pan (50 pieces) of banana lumpia.

    i really wish i checked their yelp first and read other people's experiences before ordering.

    I called around 1pm and asked how long in advance did they need for me to place an order for banana lumpia and they said 30 minutes so i asked if they could have it ready by 3:30pm. They said yes and took down my information. I arrived a little late around 3:45 and you would think that it would be ready. Like i was actually nervous that it wouldn't be as hot anymore but guess what???

    MY ORDER HASNT EVEN BEEN STARTED.

    They also claimed that i didn't order but i showed them my phone receipts and they just acted all confused and like i couldn't understand them when i could ........ they then proceeded to ask me to wait and they told me it would take an hour now as they didn't even have ingredients prepped to wrap. I just saved my money and left.

    Beware because many customers on yelp experience similar situations where their phone order isn't prepared on time or at all!!! I wouldn't rely on this place, i would only come here if you have the down time to wait, but even then the food might not even be worth it.

    I dont really know what star to give. We try to support out Filipino store. We bought lunch there and with it cassava slice  and cassava suman. I had to call them , even though the sticker says 9/6 which is today , its taste sour and the cassava suman was mashed up when we unrolled it.

    Customer service is slipping ...walked in and stood at the spot to order food and waited patiently. No greeting by 3 workers that were behind the counter. 1 at the register and 2 making halo halo . Would've been nice if someone said "one moment please". I proceeded to walk out without getting service. I will not be back although their cooking is very consistent. Shay's Filipino restaurant in Waipio has good Filipino food and exceptional customer service. The Smaller Golden Coin in Waipahu I no longer go to either after one time when I had pre-ordered 24 chicken empanada for a party at work the next day. The girl that took my order said I could pay when I picked it up. Ok great! Went back very early the next morning to pick up my 24 empanada and they looked at me like I was crazy ...oh we have 5 let us call the other
    Location ....oh sorry ma'am. Wow , my mistake to trust them with such an order. So I no longer go to that smaller location. Golden Coin use to have such great service. Sad that has declined over the years.

    Poor customer service. They took more than 20 minutes to have my food get to me and once I got my food I didn't get what I ordered, they forgot something when I initially said everything that I wanted the first time. Anyways, I went back to tel them what I forgot and they charged me!!!! Unbelievable. If you'd like to go to golden coin, don't come to this one. I've been to other locations and they had much better service.
